“I have always been inspired by nature in my paintings. I hope the viewer can take a journey with me through a trip to Maine, or a stroll through the Botanic Garden or appreciating what is growing in my yard, and appreciate my “quirky” way of seeing things.
There is nothing quite like painting on silk. When the dyes hit the silk, they just explode with color and amazing intensity. Without a resist line, the dyes just keep on moving creating a very challenging surface, adding a little salt or a little alcohol changes the chemistry and can make it even more interesting. I enjoy creating my little gardens from observation and from my imagination.

Included in this exhibition are several pieces that employ the sunlight to create positive and negative spaces that are found in nature and with found objects.

I received my BFA from a Barat College, in Lake Forest, Illinois, an art education degree from the Art Institute of Chicago, and my MFA from Western Connecticut State University.”
