GARDENS

Our 96-acre property includes 30 specialty gardens within seven distinct zones. These spaces offer a range of experiences for any interest. From Formal Gardens traditional to botanic gardens to experimental practices in Urban Home Garden and kid friendly outdoor play in My Big Backyard there is a myriad of spaces to explore year round.

ARBORETUM

Memphis Botanic Garden’s 96 acres were certified by the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council as the first Level 4 Arboretum in West Tennessee in 2007 and recognized as the first Urban Forestry Center of Excellence for the state of Tennessee in 2012. Our collection features thousands of trees representing over 180 species, including nineteen species of oaks.

Sculpture & Art Collection

The Garden houses a large number of diverse sculpture and art collections on permanent display throughout the grounds. This diverse range of art objects enhances our spaces and provides viewing opportunities during your visit. Visit our Events Calendar to learn more about the temporary art exhibitions on display.

My Big Backyard

This family garden is a place for jumping, splashing, digging, creating, daydreaming, discovering, and simply enjoying time spent outdoors. Sixteen different themed areas provide opportunities for playing in nature.
