Nature is your classroom at the Memphis Botanic Garden! In an age when virtual reality is rapidly replacing real experiences, children need to breathe fresh air and play in green spaces more than ever. Your students will connect with the natural world as they participate in hands-on, outdoor learning at the Garden or in an outreach program on your own campus. Virtual Programs
Take a virtual trip to the Garden from your own classroom. Our virtual programs help teachers use nature and plants to supplement your curriculum. We encourage you to step outside your classroom and into nature’s classroom, no matter where you’re teaching from! Scroll down to learn more!
Field Trips & School Programs
These exciting programs will complement your curriculum with hands-on-activities and Garden exploration all led by trained nature facilitators. Your students will connect with the natural world as they participate in hands-on, outdoor learning at the Garden.
The Education Department at Memphis Botanic Garden has taken great care to incorporate your teaching objectives into all of our tours and special programs. In addition to plant science, the Memphis Botanic Garden offers hands-on programs on world ecosystems, multicultural studies, historical uses of plants, art in nature, environmental issues, and more. All classes include exciting and educational activities that make your students’ visit one they won’t soon forget.

Virtual Programs
Garden to Grocery
In a generous partnership with Sprouts Healthy Community Foundation, the Memphis Botanic Garden has produced four videos educating both children and adults about the idea of Garden to Grocery.
My Big Backyard admission is not included in all programs. Please see the Educator’s Guide for more information.
We have a minimum registration of 15 students for all programs, excluding educational events/festivals. You may schedule a program for fewer students, but you will be required to pay for 15.
Checks should be made payable to Memphis Botanic Garden.
If you need to cancel we must be notified of cancellations or considerable changes in the number of students at least 2 weeks before your scheduled program.

Entry location may vary for programs or special events; details will be provided when you confirm, please relay this information to all teachers and parents.
In order to accommodate as many groups as possible, our programs must operate on a set time schedule. For larger groups, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early for unloading and class organization.
Please be on time! Programs may have to be cut short for groups arriving late.
