The show includes paintings in plein air and those done or completed in the studio. They are all from locations I have visited and from sketches or photos or both. In my art, I seek to “capture the marvelous.” Painting on site I strive for a synthesis of observation, internalization, and application. I then paint the day as I see it (capturing that moment in time), and suggest to the viewer a sense of place by way of painterly brush strokes. Those done in the studio are completed from my memory of the location and photos and sketches captured while there.
