“My name is Poonam Kumar. I am a proud grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. I have lived in Memphis for 42 years. I retired from UTHSC in the year 2011 after 26 years of service in the Department of Pharmacology. Dr. Gopal Murti introduced me to a great watercolor teacher, Mr. Fred Rawlinson. With my teacher’s profound help, my journey to watercolor painting started. My artwork has been shown at the Memphis Germantown Art League, Artists’ Link, and Bartlett Art Association. Watercolor is my preferred medium; however, I indulge in other mediums such as pencil, ink, pastel, and acrylic. Besides painting, gardening and cooking are my favorite hobbies.”
