Plein Air Artist Call for Entry

EXTENDED: Deadline for submission: November 8 at 12 pm.

The Memphis Botanic Garden is seeking artwork of the Garden in all its forms for our upcoming Plein Air Exhibition. This juried exhibition will be on view from December 3-30.

There is no fee to enter, and all entries are welcome–from beginners to experts, even children! Artwork must depict a scene from the Memphis Botanic Garden. 

In honor of our seasonal exhibition, Alice’s Adventures at the Garden, we strongly encourage works which depict the moasiaculture pieces currently on view at the Garden through October.

To submit your work: submit the form below no later than November 8 at noon. If you would like to submit more than one work, please submit the form for each work. Click here to submit your work to the Plein Air Exhibition.

This is an inclusive event – open to everyone from beginners to experts, including children, and all mediums are welcome. It is free with Garden admission, and there is no fee to submit work for consideration in the exhibition.

Our jurors will select up to 50 pieces to include in the exhibition with prizes awarded. We will notify the artists via email that are selected by November 11.

If selected, artwork must be delivered to the Memphis Botanic Garden between November 26 and 30 during our regular winter business hours, 9 am-4:30 pm. Artwork must be framed or on a gallery wrapped canvas. All pieces need to be wired on the back for hanging. Artwork will be on display December 3-30. Art can be priced to be sold (MBG will keep a 30% commission) or simply displayed for viewing.

Any artwork that is not sold should be picked up January 3-5, 2023.
