Paintings from the South of France and Corsica by Matthew Lee

November 2-December 31. On view in the Grand Hallway. There will be a reception on November 12 from 3-5 pm including an Artist Talk at 4 pm.

“These plein air paintings were made over two trips to France.  On the first trip I was painting in Provence near Avignon.  On the second trip, I attended an artist workshop in “Le Gers”, or Southwest France.   From there, I made my way along the coastline to the port of Nice, where I caught the ferry to Corsica.  The beautiful island of Corsica is part of France, but has a very different culture.  I traveled alone and met many locals along the way.”
