Mondays, October 10-November 14, 10-11:30 am.

This 6-week adult-only program taught by Daniel Lamontagne is based on the “Stress Reduction Clinic” at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Students will learn to explore the many aspects of mindfulness meditation that create openings for healing. In these classes, the instructor will incorporate the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn on stress reduction, Jack Kornfield, Michael Singr, Joseph Goldstein, and others. Classes will take place outside in the Garden, weather permitting. Students should bring water and either a folding chair, mat, or meditation bench. 

According to various research findings reported over the years, meditation can lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, lower heart rate, switch off “disease-causing” genes, increase focus and concentration, make you smarter, and strengthen the immune system.
