Metalsmithing Workshop: Spinner and Stacker Rings

February 26, 10 am-4 pm

Join jewelry artist Brandy Boyd and learn how to make a set of stacking rings in multiple metals and a sterling silver spinner ring. This class is perfect for beginners as all the basics will be covered (including soldering). If you have the following tools, please bring them: micro butane torch and fire brick, hammers, jewelry files, pliers. (The instructor will have some available for shared use in class as well as some tools for purchase). If you have questions about the tools you should bring, please email the instructor at brandy@bmb-designs.com. Participants will be able to purchase a kit with all materials for $45 (plus tax) payable to the instructor at class time (cash, check, or credit card). The kit will include silver sheet for the spinner band, silver, copper, and bronze wires for the spinners and stackers, solder, polishing materials, and a handout. We will have a variety of hammers available for texture, but participants are also welcome to bring any of their own favorites for use. There will be flux, patina, and tumbling provided as shared resources.
