Jewelry Class: Spinner and Stacker Rings

August 11, 10 am-5 pm

Join jewelry artist Brandy Boyd in this adult-only class and learn to make a set of stacking rings in multiple metals and a sterling silver spinner ring for yourself or as a gift! This class is perfect for beginners as all the basics will be covered (including soldering). If you have the following tools, please bring them: Micro butane torch and fire brick, hammers, jewelry files, and pliers (tools will be available for shared use in class, as well as some for purchase). We will have a variety of hammers available for texture, but you’re also welcome to bring any of your own favorites for use. We will have flux, patina, and tumbling provided as shared resources. If you have more specific questions about the tools you should bring, please email the instructor at brandy@bmb-designs.com. Attendees need to purchase a kit with all materials for $45 (tax included) payable to the instructor at class time (cash or credit card). Your kit will include a sterling silver sheet for the base ring band, silver, copper, and bronze wires for the spinners and stackers, solder, polishing materials, handout, and use of all the tools needed to complete the project.

What to expect:

• This class will teach you basic silversmithing.
• You will create several personalized rings in two different varieties: a series of rings that stack and a ring that has a separate ring created onto it that spins freely.
