“I like to paint images that produce an emotion or make one linger and consider – like the ballerina who instead of being in a whirl of motion is in a moment of repose performing the mundane task of tying her shoe. I paint in pastels and oils and am largely self-taught, aside from attending many local workshops. I appreciate the pleasure of blending colors in oils and the freshness and vibrancy of pastels. Painting for me is a challenge and a struggle punctuated by moments of pure joy.”
