Botanicals and Bezels with Brandy Boyd

Are you ready to add unique cast elements to your work and create something truly one of a kind? Join us for a day of silversmithing, utilizing sterling cast botanicals sourced from master casters. They grow their own succulents and flowers and cast them in sterling silver for us to use to make beautiful, one of a kind pieces! We’ll create a pendant with a bezel set cabochon and add cast botanicals. You are welcome to bring your own cabochon(s) to class, and they will be verified suitable for the project, they must be less than 1-inch square. A large selection of cast pieces and cabochons will be available, and your class kit price (payable to the instructor via cash or credit card) will depend on the elements you select for your piece.

The average cost for supplies is $40-50 and will include a sterling backing plate, bezel wire, decorative elements, and your choice of bail. If you have sterling sheet, wire, and fine silver bezel wire, you’re also welcome to bring them for your use to class. In order to complete a piece in class using the micro-torches, the size should not exceed 1.5″ x 1.5″, excluding the bail. You’re also welcome, and encouraged, to bring your own tools (cuts down on sharing time), but they are not required to take this class. All tools, including torches, will be available for use in class.
